Thelma Marie Wallace

Thelma Marie Wallace, 81, of Chillicothe, formerly of Vinton County, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 in Findlay.  She was born February 18, 1936 in Vinton County, daughter of the late Edwin and Sarah Harper Remy.  Thelma was married for 61 years to the late Lester Eugene Wallace.

Thelma retired from Vinton County Schools and was a member of the 327 Holiness Church in Ray.  She was a devoted wife and mother, and unbelievable homemaker who loved to cook and bake.  Thelma loved visiting with family and friends and attending her little church.

She is survived by her son, David E. (Nancy) Wallace of Findlay, Ohio; daughters, Cheryl Vicars of Wellston and Debra (Jim) Tribby of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Benjamin, Patrick, Scott and Jeffrey Wallace and Sarah and Mike McCorkle; great grandchildren, Carson and Karlee McCorkle and brothers, Edwin Remy Jr. of McArthur, Charles Remy of Ray, Paul Remy of Chillicothe and Kenny Remy of Allensville.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Remy and son-in-law, Bill Vicars.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Jim Harper officiating.  Interment will be in Londonderry Cemetery, Londonderry.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 6-8 p.m.
