Wanda Dodd-Ricciardo

Our Mother, Wanda Sue Dodd-Ricciardo, 93, of Nelsonville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 18, 2024, at the Hospice of Central Ohio unit of Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born October 18, 1930, in Nelsonville, the daughter of the late George and Alice (Simonton) Simms.

Wanda was formerly employed at Grants Department Store in Newark and later at Ruthie’s Restaurant in Nelsonville. She was known for her delicious cooking and pie baking. Wanda was a people magnet, anyone who met her loved her. She was a great crochet artist and enjoyed making many unique items for family and friends. She loved bingo and being around other people. She loved God and life. Her favorite pastimes were fishing, playing bingo, listening to music, family time, and cooking and baking delicious food for others.

Wanda is survived by her sons, Don Dodd, Michael Dodd, and Robby (Barbara) Dodd; daughters, Bonnie Atkinson and Nona Jones; grandchildren, Tracy (Michael) Tolliver, Troy (Taryn) Atkinson, Tawny (Mohammed) Bsatee, Jeremy (Miranda) Jones, Amber (Dan) Russell, Justin Dodd, Jared (Shelby) Dodd, Brandi Crawford, and Leah Dodd; many great grandchildren; brothers, Danny Simms and Terry (Kim) Simms; and sisters, Lorna Barber and Janet Harp.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband and father of her children, Donald Dodd; husband, Emilio Ricciardo; precious grandson, Adam Dodd; brothers, George, Henry, Kenny, Joe, and Phillip Simms; and sister, Joan Jackson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville, with Pastor Tim Kelly officiating. Interment will be in Connett Cemetery, Nelsonville. Family and friends may visit from 4 to 6 pm Monday at the funeral home.
