Wanda Lee Slone

Wanda Lee Slone, 88, of Albany, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Kimes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Athens.  She was born June 26, 1929 in Garrett, Kentucky, daughter of the late Arthur and Alma Holbrook Laferty.  Wanda was the widow of the late Clyde Slone.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Slone of Albany, Darrell (Ina) Slone of Woodbridge, Virginia, Clifford (Cindy) Slone of Dayton and Clyde Slone Jr. of Albany; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers, Bobby Laferty of McArthur and Harold Dean (Marcella) Laferty of McArthur and a sister, Vivian (William) Withrow of McArthur.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Juanita Slone; daughter, LaCreda Malone and brothers, Archie, Bill, Ray and Charles.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Saturday, February 3, 2018 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Jim Henderson officiating.  Interment was in Elk Cemetery, McArthur.  Friends called at the funeral home on Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
