Wayne Roger Hedges

Wayne Roger Hedges, 75, of Logan, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster.  He was born December 6, 1946, in South Perry, Ohio, son of the late Wayne Thomas Hedges and Genevieve Atkinson Hedges Stephens.  Roger was married to Vicki Walke Hedges, who survives.

He retired from Hocking Valley Community Hospital and was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army where he received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.  He attended the First Presbyterian Church in Logan and was a member of the Logan AMVETS.  Roger loved music and spent many years playing the drums and singing in various country bands.  He was co-producer of the Muskingum Valley Jubilee Music Show and was well known for his presence at Music in the Park summer concert series.

Roger is survived by his son, Anthony James (Melissa) Hedges of Charleston, South Carolina; daughter, Mariah Dawn (Yves Charles) Thompson of Columbus; grandchildren, Tylor Nichole (Rafe) Multer of Amanda and Mira Layne Hedges of Charleston, South Carolina and sisters, Patty Lou Sigler of Rushville, Ohio, Gwen (Jim) Wilson of Zanesville, Carmen Climer and Deborah Scott of Sugar Grove.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Ronald Hedges.

A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2022, in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan, Ohio, with Pastor Larry Hoffman officiating.  Military graveside services will be conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard.  No visitation will be held.

Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
