William "Bill" Herron

William “Bill” Herron, 97, of McArthur, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Kimes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Athens.  He was born August 23, 1924, in Vinton County, Ohio, son of the late Arch and Eva Brown Herron.  Bill was married to the late Anna Mae Murphy Herron.

He retired from Benedict Inc. in McArthur and was a WWII United States Army Veteran.

Bill is survived by his stepdaughter, Janet Trout of Zanesville and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lee, Wayne and Randall Herron; sisters, Frances Herron, Shirley Allman and Virginia Byers and stepchildren, Gary and John Coffman.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, February 11, 2022, in Elk Cemetery, McArthur, with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating.  Military graveside services will be conducted by the McArthur VFW Post #5299.  No calling hours will be observed.  Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
