William L. Poling, 84, of Logan, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan. Bill was born January 2, 1937, in Logan, the son of the late Judson Poling and Dorothy Mowery Courtney. He was married to Martha Hopkins Poling who survives.
Bill was a US Army Veteran. He retired from Orrville City Schools, after 28 years, where he served as head custodian and boiler operator. He was a member of the Logan Church of the Nazarene. He loved to go to auctions and he loved to joke. He will also be remembered for his kindness to everyone.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his sons, Philip (Elizabeth) Poling of Maine and Jason (Michelle) Poling of California; daughter, Barbara (Mark) Fishburn of Wooster, Ohio; grandchildren, Johnathon, Billy, Beth, Zack, Sammy, Tommy, and Josh; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Don Poling of Columbus; sister, Jeannie Vermillion of Columbus; sister-in-law, Sharon Carter of Florida; nephew, Chuck Hopkins of Logan; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Pastor Tom Gates officiating. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan. Friends may call Thursday at the funeral home from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM, and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday.
