Wilma Geiger

January 24, 1920 — May 18, 2018

Wilma Geiger, aged 98, passed away peacefully Friday, May 18, in her residence at Carlin House, Logan.  Born January 24, 1920, in Obetz, she was the daughter of William and Ellen Harris Scott.  During her early childhood, the family lived in Columbus and had a year-long adventure in Florida before settling in Perry County around 1929.  On June 5, 1936, Wilma married Robert Ray Geiger; they celebrated 70 years of marriage before his passing in 2006.  In their home on Geiger Road, Wilma raised two beloved and devoted daughters.  She took great joy in many dear pets over the years, especially her cockapoo Gypsy, and enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds, hobbies that she shared with her husband.  She was an amazing cook whose holiday meals were always eagerly anticipated.  She believed that one pie per person was just about right for these celebrations.  She was a talented needlewoman who expressed her love of color and pattern in embroidery, knitting, crocheting, and making clothes for herself and her family.  She loved reading classic mysteries, listening to the music of Jim Reeves and Tennessee Ernie Ford, watching golf, and eating ice cream.

Wilma leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Linda (Chip) Conner; son-in-law, Loren Inboden; grandchildren, Robin (Don Umatum) Inboden, Shelby (Bill) Mullins, Bryan (Sonya) Conner, Erin (Pete) Addington, and Brendan (Michelle) Conner; great-grandchildren, Willow and Tucker Addington and Colin and Brigh Conner; three step great-grandchildren, Dylan, Gaelan, and Jonah (Brandi) Mullins; and three step great-great grandchildren, Olivia, Liam and Isabella Mullins, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Robert; her daughter, Louise Inboden and her brothers and sisters and brothers- and sisters-in-law.

The family would like to thank the staff and friends at Carlin House for their care and friendship over the years.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to FairHope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Rev. Kermit Welty officiating.  Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Perry County.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
